Jobs: Social Enterprise Development Manager - South West and Hampshire
Employer: ASTER GROUP; Location: Flexible location - South West or Hampshire; Hours: Full Time; Salary: £30,000 pa + 10% car allowance
About us
People at our heart. That's the Aster Group. From affordable housing to care and support, we're a group of ethical businesses working together to have a positive effect on people's lives. Everything we do makes a difference and, like us, you're committed to having a positive impact on the people and communities we work with.
About the role
This is a hugely exciting time for Aster Group. We're growing our services and diversifying into new areas like never before. As our social enterprise champion, reporting in to the Head of Research and Development, you'll identify, research, secure and implement new social enterprise opportunities for the group.
You'll explore and evaluate all new business opportunities, and present the enterprise case for potential acquisitions and new service areas. This will include looking at current activity and identifying areas where we can expand.
Partnerships are vital: you'll look at options for increased partnership with public, private and voluntary sector organisations, helping them to develop, expand, establish and share their own social enterprise activities. To make things happen, to get new enterprises off the ground, you'll carry out specific enterprise development project work. You'll also make sure that, as an organisation, we're quick to react to new opportunities when they come along - viable, sustainable social and community enterprise opportunities.
About you
You don't necessarily need to have worked within the housing sector before, but you must have proven business development experience, ideally within social enterprises. A creative thinker, someone who's open-minded and business focused, someone who makes things happen, you've a talent for identifying, exploring and evaluating new business opportunities.
It's also important that you're brilliant at managing projects and seeing them through to a successful conclusion. We'd like you to have experience of working in multi-agency teams too.
