This new award scheme succeeds the Deputy Prime Minister's Award for Sustainable Communities, which since 2003 has recognised projects and The awards involve a high-quality, robust assessment process that will include: initial assessments of the written submissions; the taking up of references; a presentation by short-listed entries; and in most cases a visit by the judging panel.
