SELD Evaluation Resource Guide

Whether you're an old hand, or are just thinking about evaluation for the very first time, the resources and contacts included here should provide something you will find useful to improve the planning and delivery of your evaluation.

There are an ever increasing number of resources out there to guide evaluation activity; the ones we have included here come recommended by practitioners and experts from across the region as sources they've personally found useful in their work. By spending a little time going through these links, reading some of the resources and contacting some of the organisations featured, you should be able to find answers to most of the questions you have about your evaluation.

If you still have questions, then get in touch and we can provide you with free, impartial advice around evaluation and using evidence to improve local delivery in your area.

Also, if you know of any other useful resources or organisations we could include here, then please let us know.

Based on our knowledge of the typical questions asked about evaluation by those engaged in regeneration and service delivery, we have grouped this resource into the following areas (click on the section you are interested in):

  • WHAT IS EVALUATION? A brief summary of what evaluation actually is.
  • ORGANISATIONS Links to useful organisations that may be able to provide ideas, guidance, resources, contacts and other support for your evaluation.
  • SOUTH WEST ORGANISATIONS Links to various groups and organisations across the region who you may like to contact for ideas, guidance or mutual learning and support.
  • USEFUL RESOURCES A selection of tools, methods, checklists, and approaches which you can use for your evaluation.
  • CONSULTANTS A guide to where you can locate consultants and contractors whose services you may wish to engage for your evaluation.

Many thanks to the various organisations and individuals who contributed to this resource.
