SELD Evaluation Resource Guide: Organisations

The Evaluation Trust was founded in 1990 to promote and undertake participatory evaluation. They value a community development approach advocating evaluation in a way that encourages ownership of the process and learning by the organisation concerned. They encourage organisations to be involved in developing the evaluation questions, undertaking the work, and analysing, reflecting and implementing the findings. They operate principally in the South West but also undertake evaluation for national and international organisations.

Charities Evaluation Services (CES) is a registered charity and a company limited by guarantee. They were established in 1990 to strengthen the voluntary sector through offering free and below-cost support and services to charities and community groups. They offer publications and guidance to monitoring, evaluation and quality assurance along with training and consultancy support primary aimed at those working in or with the voluntary and community sector.

The UK Evaluation Society exists to promote and improve the theory, practice, understanding and utilisation of evaluation and its contribution to public knowledge and to promote cross-sector and cross-disciplinary dialogue and debate. This website provides information about the activities of the UKES and news about other evaluation activities, jobs, contracts, events, resources in the UK and internationally.

The Evidence Network was set up by the Economic & Social Research Council (ESCRC) to provide a focal point for those who are interested in evidence based policy and practice (EBPP) to access useful information and resources.

European Evaluation Society includes a library of resources from useful organisations to evaluation standards and good practice.

Canadian Evaluation Society (CES) CES's list of links for evaluators offers useful resources and organisations including different subjects, methods/guides.

International Association for Impact Assessment is a forum for advancing innovation, development and communication of best practice in impact assessment. Its international membership promotes development of local and global capacity for the application of environmental assessment in which sound science and full public participation provide a foundation for equitable and sustainable development.
