Design: Prime Minister's Better Public Building Award - deadline 20 April

The Prime Minister's Better Public Building Award is now in its sixth year.  The award, which is jointly sponsored by the Commission for Architecture and the Built Environment and the Office for Government Commerce, recognises both design and procurement excellence in building projects from across the public sector.

The criteria for the award, entry form and full details are available from the better public building web site.

The main criteria are that the project must have been completed since 1 January 2005 and come into use by 31 January 2006, the award is open to any project commissioned by or on behalf of central or local government or by a grant-aided organisation (regardless of size and budget), and the judges will be looking for high standards in design construction, delivery and operational performance.

The PM's award is a special category within the British Construction Industry Awards (BCIA).  Enter your project in the BCIA and note its eligibility for the PM's award on the form.  All the projects shortlisted for the BCIA that fulfil the relevant criteria are automatically put forward for the PM's award.
