Evidence: Free Local Travel Survey Toolkit
Do you have an interest in conducting/using household or general population travel surveys at a local or regional level? A free toolkit has just been published to help.
As some of you will be aware, Department for Transport (DfT) have developed a Local Travel Survey Toolkit in collaboration with the National Centre for Social Research (NatCen) to help local authorities carry out local household travel surveys. The Toolkit has been developed to provide a robust and cost-effective methodology for those who would like to conduct such surveys, with step by step guidance for any authority that wishes to undertake travel survey work. Moreover, the Toolkit can be easily adapted to cater for other types of survey.
Visit the National Centre for Social Research website which has been set up to provide more information about the Toolkit. DfT is providing The Toolkit free of charge to local authorities, and until Summer 2007 is also offering free support to local authority users. Training events will also be running on the use of the Toolkit through to 2007.
