Evidence: Top Tips for Local Information Systems
If you are managing a local information system or thinking about creating one then you’re not alone. The growing need for bringing together data and information across various socio-economic themes means that local information systems are popping up all across the country. To support partnership approaches to service delivery such as Local Area Agreements (LAA) the need bring together data to effectively target, performance manage and evaluate funding and delivery means that a centralised local information system is often the most practical way forward. The Neighbourhood Renewal Unit (NRU) is currently undertaking a substantial research project reviewing the information systems currently in place to support the delivery of regeneration. At a recent workshop, system managers from some the 70+ such systems across the county came together to discuss their successes and difficulties. The workshop yielded a list of 80 top tips and 39 barriers which you can download from the link above.
