Design: Urban Design - consultation on quality of recent design in Bristol - have your say

Urban Design logo 1.jpgAs part of Urban Design Week, the Urban Design and Conservation Team at Bristol City Council is seeking your views on the quality of recent design in the city.

Urban Design Week is an annual event that seeks to champion urban design by:

  • promoting and encouraging awareness of good practice; fostering innovation in the built environment; celebrating urban culture and lifestyles

Bristol has seen a period of intense development interest since the mid 1990s. Much of the commercial development has been focussed on the city centre leading to the transformation of the Harbourside, Temple and Broadmead neighbourhoods. In the suburbs, new schools, health and community centres are springing up, providing a catalyst for the wider regeneration of many areas.

With so much happening in the city, the urban design and development team thought it was a good time to take stock of the quality of development delivered in the last few years, with a view to learning lessons that can be applied in the future growth and regeneration areas.
