Places: Hotel go ahead in Bath after helpful design review

A hotel scheme reviewed by SWDRP has won consent in one of the most challenging places in the South West for new build - the centre of Bath.

The design by Scott Brownrigg was praised by the members of the Bath & North East Somerset Planning Committee, who commented on the ‘excellence of the design'.

Earlier, the scheme had been reviewed by SWDRP in March 2011. Martyn Stutchbury (Director, Scott Brownrigg - Planning) said after full planning permission and conservation area consent were obtained:

‘Scott Brownrigg found the Design Review Panel to be well informed and constructive and their input to be very useful in helping to resolve design issues and also affirm other aspects of our approach. It was useful as part of our continuing discussions with Council Officers and without doubt helped in the decision made by the Members.  The scheme is all the better as a result of their advice.'
